Antique Linen Cushion
These cushions are handmade in London using antique Hungarian grain sacks dating from 1910-1930.
The sacks were hand woven with flax linen, which is known for its durabilty and strength and is said to be 2-3 times stronger than cotton. The varying stripes indicate which mills they originally came from. It would be impossible to find a modern fabric with such history and character.
The cushions are designed for indoor or outdoor use and are machine washable. They are supplied with duck feather pads
Each cushion is unique so the colour and thickness of the stripes varies.
Dimensions:
50cm x 50cm
"Making new from discarded old - very green and very satisfying."
