Mixed Touchstone Case
Organic wines are made from grapes which are cultivated naturally. To produce a quality wine it is imperative that the base product is sound and we believe that organically-grown grapes have a head start because they are not in a cycle of chemical dependency.
A fantastic Touchstone mixed case for those who enjoy both White and Red (x2 of each), so 12 bottles in total detailed below.
"In conventional winemaking, artificial fungicides, herbicides and fertilizers are often applied to the vines. These are potentially damaging both to human health and the natural environment. Organic wines are produced without chemical inputs and with a pro-environmental ethos."
• Touchstone Sauvignon Blanc. This sauvignon carries all the classic characteristics such as lime, gooseberry and lemon. The advantage of the warmer climate is that the citrus notes are not overly sharp. Perfect with fish and that old-favourite, goats’ cheese. Chile
• Touchstone Chardonnay. Benchmark Chardonnay; ripe and tropical. The tropical fruit character of new world organic Chardonnay is perfectly captured. Full-bodied, with a soft, creamy finish, it is a very attractive wine. Chile
• Touchstone Pinot Grigio. This Italian organic Pinot Grigio is perfectly captured. Its sweet green pea and summer orchard fruits are the striking qualities of this well-balanced, easy-going wine. Italy
• Touchstone Shiraz. It is medium-bodied with a nose and palate of red cherries and blueberries. We'd particularly recommend this with hearty grilled foods. This Shiraz combines fruit with spice. Argentina
• Touchstone Merlot. The ultra-talented Alvaro Espinoza can certainly get an astonishing amount of flavour from his grapes. Full of smooth, jammy black cherry and plum fruits this Merlot has good length too. Fantastic wine that can be served with confidence with most medium-flavoured wines. Chile
• Touchstone Cabernet Sauvignon. Made by star winemaker Alvaro Espinoza, this is benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes have been blessed with sunny Chilean skies and have ripened fully, giving medium-bodied blackcurrant fruits on the nose and palate. Chile
