"Most of the bamboo fabric sold in the market today is often marketed as ‘green’  simply because it is derived from sustainable bamboo. In reality it is often made using heavy chemicals to turn the woody fibres into a soft pulp, hence the eco-friendly and sustainable quailty of bamboo is tarnished. However, Ecoboo uses an alternative method where natural enzymes are used to break down crushed bamboo, which is later combed out mechanically to produce bamboo yarn! This is more labour intensive but it retains the environmentally sustainable message that bamboo carries."
