Ban The Plastic Bag

Did you know that every year seventeen billion carrier bags are given away free in the UK? That's is an average of three hundred carrier bags for every man, woman and child in Britain. Scientists now estimate that plastic lasts for a thousand years.

In May 2007, Modbury in South Devon became Britain's first plastic bag free town. Rebecca Hoskins takes the Modbury story and asks every village, town and city in the country to follow its example and ban the plastic bag.
