The Local Green Points scheme which rewards households for recycling is expanding to three new areas across the UK. What started in Bexley is now being trialled in Cheltenham, Bexhill-on-Sea and Greenwich bringing the total number of households in the scheme up to 40,000.
Pupils from Peareswood Primary School in Bexley joined Bexley’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Public Realm, Councillor Gareth Bacon, for the Reuse Design Challenge to mark the official launch of the London Green Points scheme for all 17,000 purpose built flats in the London Borough of Bexley.
The London Green Points recycling incentive scheme is expanding to a further 15,000 flats across Bexley following a successful launch in Thamesmead last autumn. A team of doorsteppers is now out and about in the London Borough helping residents to activate their accounts and answer any questions about the scheme.

An innovative new series of children’s tree characters, “The Treebillies”, is today being launched exclusively at Green Rewards. This means that a registered charity is now able to set up a Group Account into which members of the public can automatically donate a percentage of the Green Points they earn by shopping in its online eco-store.
